How to Delete a Section From the Middle of an Audio File Online (Free)

Need to remove something from the middle — not just trim the start or end? Here's how to delete any section from an MP3 online, free, without software.

Trimming the start or end of an audio file is easy — almost every online tool can do it. But what if the part you want to remove is in the middle?

That's where most free tools fall short. They give you two handles: one at the start, one at the end. You can keep what's between them, or cut everything outside — but you can't punch a hole in the middle.

How to remove a middle section online

MP3 Studio works differently. Instead of selecting what to keep, you select what to delete. Drag on the waveform to mark a region — it turns red — then click Export. Everything outside the red region is kept and joined seamlessly.

Step by step:

  1. Go to mp3-studio.vercel.app
  2. Drop your MP3, WAV, FLAC, or M4A file onto the page
  3. Use the playback controls to find the section in the middle you want to remove
  4. Drag on the waveform to select that section — it highlights in red
  5. Zoom in for precision if needed (up to 2000× zoom)
  6. Click Preview to hear the result — the middle section is gone, the remaining parts are joined
  7. Click Export MP3 to save

Can I remove multiple middle sections?

Yes. Mark as many regions as you want — each turns red. All of them get deleted in a single export. If your recording has three problem spots, you mark all three and export once. No re-uploading, no repeating the process.

Does the cut sound clean?

The join is seamless. MP3 Studio uses FFmpeg to stitch the remaining pieces together at the exact sample boundaries you marked. Preview before you export to confirm it sounds right.
